The sensitivity differs from individual to individual, however we use the most advanced pain relief product, which numbs the working area, and the procedure becomes completely painless.
The first Microblading session takes approximately 2 hours, the first hour will consist of the consultation, completing consent forms and shaping the brows with pencil to decide upon the shape, the 2nd hour will consist of going ahead to stoke the brows and complete the look. Usually, clients come on an average of 1 year later for a colour boost, which is at a much reduced price.
The results last from 1 year and a half to 3 years, and the exact period of time depends on various things. For example, the skin type, on oily skin the pigment will fade quicker than on dry skin, and it also depends on the amount of UV exposure.
The brow technician will shape and style the eyebrows to the client’s satisfaction with a pencil to be checked prior to beginning the procedure, professional advice upon the shape will also be given.
It is advisable for clients to come for their touch up session between 6 – 12 weeks after the initial procedure.
It is not advisable to get touch up sessions done earlier than 4 weeks, this is because the pigment has not fully settled into the skin by this time and skin tissues require time to heal completely.
It is not really recommended, but it can be done if your midwife can provide a letter stating it is completely safe to go ahead with the procedure.
Right after the procedure the eyebrows will look darker and thicker than expected, the intensity of the colour will start to fade by 40% after the healing process and the eyebrows will also become thinner, softer and lighter.
The eyebrows will go through various stages of healing until the real result will be shown; this is usually after 28 days from the initial procedure.

Before procedure care includes:
- Do not work out on the day of the procedure
- Do not drink coffee on the day of the procedure
- Do not tan (no sun exposure and no sun bed) for one week prior to the procedure
- Do not take aspirin, niacin, vitamin E or ibuprofen 24 hours before procedure
- No alcohol from the night prior to the procedure
- Any waxing or tinting of the brows should be done 3 days prior to the procedure
- No Botox treatments for 2-4 weeks prior to the procedure
- It is best to do a scrub 3 days prior to the procedure
- Stop using any Retin-A or AHA products for 2 weeks prior to the procedure
- No lasers or chemical peels for 2 weeks prior to the procedure
- No microdermabrasion or dermaplaning for 1-2 weeks prior to the procedure
After the procedure, it is best to avoid excessive sweating; gym, sauna, swimming pool, tanning at sunbeds or excessive exposure to UV, face procedures for the first 2 weeks, make up around the eyebrows area for the first 4-5 days. Also, very important, do not pitch or scratch your scabs once they appear.
Yes, like for any treatment or procedure, there are some contraindications. These include:
- Nursing a child
- Pregnant women
- Diabetic type 1 clients
- Clients taking blood thinners
- Clients with uncontrolled high blood pressure
- Clients who take Accutane or steroids
- Hemophiliac
- Clients with skin diseases on the brows area e.g. eczema
- Allergies to any of the pigments or products used
- Clients with active skin cancer
- Clients with HIV
- Clients with Hepatitis C
- Keloid scar
